Skin Rashes

A skin rash is a change in the texture or coloration of the skin which can be caused by any number or factors. Skin rashes are so varied that even amongst doctors the word rash does not have a hard and fast meaning. Rashes can be contained to a specific area of caontact or be widespread. They can be bumps alone, a discoloration alone, or be both. In some cases skin rashes are even heriditary.

Most rashes are not dangerous or infectious aside from those like chickenpox and can usually be treated with an over the counter rememdy. If a rash persists and/or spreads after three days of OTC treatment you may then wish to seek the advice of a dermatologist.
